MEET THE OWNER...
Reuben Jensen grew up in Pocatello, Idaho, and graduated from Highland Highschool in 2003. Even from a young age Reuben had a passion for building things, and he accredits much of his ingenuity to his grandfather who taught him the kind of carpentry and life skills that only grandfathers can teach.
In 2014 Reuben relocated his family to work as the Department Manager of Project Management at a large tech company in Utah. While there, Reuben attended Utah Valley University for Construction Management, and in 2017 he was hired on with the award winning home builder, Magleby Homes. There he learned a level of craftsmanship and integrity that stood out above the rest.
In 2019, armed with knowledge and experience, Reuben moved his family back to Idaho and started Jaspen Construction.
Reuben and his wife, Alyssa, have 5 kids and live in Nampa, Idaho.
HOW WE GOT OUR NAME
In the late 1960's Stanley M Jencks scrimped and saved until he could afford to purchase a small lot near the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon in Utah. There, with the help of his 5 children, they constructed a small cabin in a grove of aspen trees. The crafstmanship and attention to detail were true to his character! And the cabin soon became the central gathering place for the entire family. Memories and bonds were formed there for decades to come.
The cabin was rightfully named Jaspen; a combination of Stan's last name, and the aspen grove it was built in. So when Stan passed away in 2015, Reuben decided to name his company after the legacy his grandfather left behind.
